Hertfordshire Small Schools
Football Tournament

On Friday 15th November Hunsdon School took part in a football tournament as the reigning champions. The tournament was held at Queen’s Secondary School in Watford and took place in 6 cages. There were 24 schools taking part and the standard was even higher than last year!
We got off to a great start in the group stage winning 10-0 against St. Pauls and then we twice won 7-0 against Offley and Pirton B with some great goals. Because we had won all of our games we were into the quarter finals!
The quarter final was our toughest game so far. We were playing against Hertford St Andrews who, if you remember, let us down at the last minute earlier this term, so we had a grudge to settle! We managed to beat them 5-0 which was fantastic! In the semi-finals we played our best football and in a tightly fought match won 3-0 against Ferneux Pelham. So, for the second year running, we were in the final!
In the final we played St Ippylots and they were very good! It was a great game and for the first time in the tournament we were up against a team who could break through our defence and they scored twice! However, we hadn’t been the tournament’s top scorers for nothing and our attacking play was mesmerising!!! We won 4-2 and so we were the Hertfordshire Small Schools Champions once again!

We’d like to thank Mr Millward and Sarah for coaching us, the parents for cheering us on and Maxwell for the ipad entertainment!
Come on Hunsdon!!!!!!!
