Explorers Day

On 21st June, the whole school came together to enjoy a day of cross-curricular learning, based on the history and geography topics they had been studying. They had all been challenged to dress up as an explorer for the day, and pioneers of all sorts - from new-world discoverers to astronauts journeying beyond our world - were represented.

Under a blazing sun the Hunsdon Explorers tackled a range of challenges. There were bears to find, an assault course to navigate and wild animals had ventured into the hall. They gathered indigenous fauna to create works of art. To sustain them on their expeditions, they made pop corn on an open fire and decorated cakes. At the end of a fabulous day, the explorers gathered for one last sing song around the campfire before enjoying their cakes and juice and setting off on their long voyages home...
